A Saudi visa is a travel document that allows you to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for specific purposes, like tourism or business. KSA requires visas for entry for most countries. Without a visa, you cannot enter the country. For citizens of Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia offers online visas. Uzbekistan is one of 50 countries authorized for the KSA eVisa program.

Alongside the eVisa program, Uzbek citizens have a diverse range of KSA visas available to them, including work and residency visas. Let’s explore the options Uzbek citizens have for entry to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the extremely useful eVisa.

KSA Visa for Uzbek Citizens

A KSA visa is a travel document that gives you permission to travel to Saudi Arabia.

There are four main visas available for Uzbek citizens wishing to secure entry to Saudi Arabia:

  • Tourist Visa/eVisa
  • Business Visa
  • Family Visit Visa
  • Transit Visa

The KSA eVisa is most suitable for Uzbekistanis looking to travel to Saudi Arabia for short/medium-length trips. It allows multiple trips over a year, up to 90 days at a time for each stay.

You will need a KSA visa for Uzbek citizens if your planned trip falls outside of the eVisa requirements.

Do Uzbek Citizens Need a Visa for Saudi Arabia?

Yes, Uzbek citizens need a visa to travel to KSA.

The great news is there are many types of Saudi Arabia visa for Uzbekistani citizens. As Uzbekistan is a largely Muslim country with over 90% of the population following the faith, the Kingdom of KSA understands it is important to make it easy for Uzbekistanis to do Umrah (excluding Hajj) This is why Uzbekistan is one of 50 designated countries eligible for the eVisa.

The eVisa is a streamlined application process to enable easy travel to Saudi Arabia. If you intend to stay for longer than the 90-day limit or travel to KSA for purposes other than tourism, Umrah, or visiting friends and family, you will need to apply for a different visa.

KSA Visa Types

Here’s what you need to know about the four main visa types.

KSA Tourist Visa/eVisa

If your intended stay is for less than 90 days at a time, an eVisa is your best route of entry. It covers you for events, family and relatives visits, leisure, and Umrah. However, you can apply for a Saudi Tourism Visit Visa if you want to stay in the country for longer than 90 days.

Business Visa

The Saudi Arabia business visa is for eligible Uzbekistanis who are conducting business, investing in KSA businesses, or attending meetings in the Kingdom. Entry requirements for business visas are thorough, with basic checks and financial checks.

The eligibility requirements are:

  • Passport with at least 6 months of validity left,
  • Electronic invitation letter from a Saudi company,
  • Proof of funds, including the ability to support yourself while in KSA,
  • Travel insurance,
  • If traveling for work, you must have a contract of employment from a registered Saudi company.

Family Visit Visa

If you wish to visit family that resides in KSA, you may be able to do so using the eVisa program. However, if your planned trip duration is longer than 90 days, you will need to apply for a Family Visit Visa.

To get this visa, a Saudi Arabian resident or citizen should invite you and start the visa process. They must be a first-degree relative (e.g. parent, wife, siblings, son/daughter) to apply for this visa.

Transit Visa

For Uzbekistani citizens looking to transit through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an eVisa is a practical option as it is straightforward to apply and allows you to transit whenever you need to for the year the eVisa is valid.

However, if you don’t want to apply for the evisa and just want to travel through KSA one time, you can apply for a transit visa. This visa is also known as a 96-hour stopover visa, and it lets you stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 96 days, as the name suggests. You need this transit visa if your layover is longer than 12 hours or if you’ll pass through immigration control in KSA.

As the KSA eVisa is the most popular and useful visa type for most Uzbekistani citizens, let’s take a closer look!

Saudi eVisa for Uzbek Citizens

The eVisa is an electronic visa that gives you permission to visit KSA Arabia for short-term stays. You apply for this Saudi visa online.

First launched in 2019, the eVisa was expanded in May 2023 to include citizens of 50 eligible countries (including Uzbekistan). With Saudi Arabia welcoming almost 100 million tourists each year, the eVisa is designed to make it a fast, streamlined, and easy way to enter the country.

With the eVisa, you can:

  • Travel for tourism purposes,
  • Transit in KSA to an onward destination,
  • Use it as a Saudi Arabia Umrah visa,
  • Visit friends and family.
